Two of Agilium Worldwide’s member firms in Europe collaborate to create a “win-win-win” situation

SORTH&CO of Denmark receives an interesting search assignment for a Sales Director. The client, with several manufacturing plants in Denmark and especially near the German border, has developed a new product line for the automotive business, replacing some traditional steel and copper products with aluminum – much lighter, much cheaper and much more sustainable. This being a fit for all future electric cars, they have already made first contracts with two major electric car manufacturers. The role of the new Sales Director is to utilize these contracts as stepping stones for approaching other car manufacturing companies which are focused on producing electric cars. The goal is to form a new sales organization and lead it to success.

Fact is, much of the role-relevant business is located in Germany, a major automotive market in Europe. With this in mind, SORTH&CO and the client decided to focus the search on candidates in Germany who had inside automotive knowhow. And here’s where being part of an international executive search network pays off for everyone! SORTH&CO contacted Liebich & Partner in Germany and the decision was made to proceed jointly with the search, sharing synergies in all elements of the search process, research resources, conducting interviews together, and ultimately benefitting from each other’s specialist knowledge of the industry and insights into the client’s requirements and culture. It all made sense!

Finalization of the project is forthcoming. Despite travel complications caused by COVID, interviews are being conducted in Denmark. Numerous advantages have become apparent. The most important among them are: (1) Assignments conducted on “foreign soil” – geographical location, field of business, special sectors – result in much better quality when a local executive search firm, in other words an Agilium Worldwide partner firm, is involved. (2) Sharing in-house search resources on a fully reciprocal basis fosters goodwill within the network and makes future joint projects smoother and more efficient. (3) Being totally open-minded towards the qualified suggestions of collaborating members, and accepting alternative ideas can lead to a solution that is way better for the client. And ultimately, this is what counts in the long run!
