Dieter Spath connects science and business, providing important impulses to industry for decades. His manifold achievements have resulted in honorary doctorates from the Technical University of Munich, Germany and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He also received the Medal of Merit from the Technical University of Gdansk, Poland, and the German Federal Cross of Merit.

Dieter Spath has served Liebich & Partner as chair of the supervisory board right from its beginnings. In July 2021 he became president and chair of TÜV Rheinland Berlin Brandenburg Pfalz e.V. Previously, he occupied board positions at TÜV Rheinland Berlin Brandenburg Pfalz e.V. and TÜV Rheinland AG. In 2016 he took over as head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering IAO and the Institute for Human Factors and Technology Management IAT at the University of Stuttgart. From 2017 to 2021 he was president of acatech, the German Academy of Science and Engineering, and today he is on their board of trustees. Before that, he chaired the management board of Wittenstein AG for three years. Dieter Spath has also worked in science and teaching at the universities of Karlsruhe (TH) and Stuttgart. In 1981 he joined the KASTO group of companies, where he was managing director from 1988.
